Guidelines for the witness of Jesus Christ:
- The witness is to be of Jesus Christ – the experience you relate will have left no doubt in your mind as to His identity, His personal presence and influence in that experience.
- The testimony should be expressed in terms that are easily understood by the reader.
- References to a specific denomination will not be made.
- Terms and titles unique to the witness’ denomination will be avoided.
- Give as much detail as preserves the reality of the experience while also preserving its sacredness.
- Limit your testimony to no more than two 8.5×11 inch paper pages, single-spaced, Times New Roman font, 10 pitch.
- Do not violate any restrictions placed upon you by the Lord when your experience was given.
- Describe the event within the context of your life experience.
- Near or after death experiences with Jesus Christ are acceptable contingent on item 1 above.
- Do not use this testimony to “preach” to others.
- You may invite others to come to know the Savior.
- Do not name other persons in your experience.
- The two or three witnesses need not have been present at the time of the experience with the Lord. They are simply character witnesses and should be men or women in good standing in their communities.
- Before signing your testimony in front of the witnesses submit your testimony to The Witnesses of Jesus Christ Project Administrator. The Administrator will contact you personally and assist you with any editing or clarification needs so that your testimony will be clearly understandable by readers. Once the Administrator has cleared your testimony (from an editing perspective), you can then sign it before your witnesses.
- Carefully consider releasing your full name for publication. Consider your circumstances and those of your family. We are willing to publish only the first names if requested.
- Obtain God’s permission before providing your testimony to The Witnesses of Jesus Christ Project.
Providing Contact Information for the Publisher:
The contact information provided will be held in confidence by the publisher and is for the purpose of validating the witness submission and for contacting the witness in reference to items that are of concern to the project and its witnesses as a group. This information will not be disclosed to any party. The publisher shall forward to the witness any request for contact. The witness can then chose whether or not to make the requested contact.
